Wedding Rehearsal / Church Responsibility

Image
"Marriage is honourable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge" - Heb 13:4 . "Nevertheless, the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal; The Lord knows who are His, and let everyone who names of Christ depart from iniquity" - 2Timothy 2:19 "Let all things be done decently and in order" - 1Corinthians 14:40 The concept of wedding rehearsal, up until now, is like a dice with many sides: being stale a topic of discussion in some Churches; just as fresh to some, while it is even completely strange to some others. It has been in operation in some setting, while some others are of the opinion that it is not necessary, needless or uncalled for.  However, it has been so much neglected in some Churches nowadays, and the consequential result is confusion and commotion in the conduct of wedding, which now gives room to the antagonist of the Church to speak derogatorily about Church wedding; thereby rubbin

Preparation Towards Engagement And Marriage

Image
Engagement is a day set aside for the payment of bride price by the husband to be, to his prospective in-law. It is often referred to as the traditional marriage. It usually takes place before the 'white garment marriage proper. It can come up a week, a day or some hours before the wedding. It is a day for the two families to meet formally and it is usually accompanied with ceremony, which for a child of God must be moderate and follow Biblical principles (Gen 24:42-65). Preparation for Engagement and the eventual Marriage will be discussed under 3 sub-topics: 1. Physical/Emotional Preparation: Before engagement or marriage can take place, both the man and woman must be of marriageable age and must be matured, because marriage is not meant for kids. The man must have a stable source of income and must be able to take good care of a family. The woman must also be engaged in something worthwhile to lean on to support the husband, by the time they are married. The man must

Valentine's Day

Image
Valentine! Valentine!! Valentine!!! What is Valentine's day? Valentine's day Is a day when people show their affection for another person or people by sending cards, flowers or chocolates with messages of love. Hope you saw that definition?👆🏽 But in this part of the world, it's given a wrong and different definition. Some think it's a day to commit a lot of atrocities like having Sex, clubbing, drinking to stupor, spending lavishly on things that are not reasonable, what a world! Some girls think it's a day to lose their virginity, hmmm! Some girls are even thinking on how they can divide themselves in order to satisfy different guys (and that one is someone's future wife o, what a shame), so their "honey pot" has turn to a general thing😪. And some guys think it's a day to break virginity, have sex with different girls, have you forgotten that having sex with someone you ain't married to is called FORNICATION you are actually destro

Proposing To A Lady

Image
When you propose to a lady it means you are ready to settle down as a man, and proposing to her means you have searched your heart properly, and that's the person you wish to spend the rest of your life with. These days we see videos on social media of a guy proposing to a lady and then the reaction is something else, some girls walk away or even slap the man without saying a YES (what a disgrace☹️). When you search it deeply, you will find out the guy has never been a good guy to her, probably the guy has been cheating on her or he hasn't been of good conduct, and you expect her to say yes (who does that). You never take time to talk with her about how the future will look like for both of you, she hasn't seen in you a man that will be a good father to her children or a good husband to her, all you do is have sex with her, shopping and so on. Most ladies wants to settle down, not all ladies though (95%), some want to keep enjoying life because they feel like "m

Fasting and Prayers For The Family

Image
Marriage is believed to be instituted for the following reasons: companionship, guard against lust, and for procreation. The devil is fighting vigorously to destroy home because it is the bedrock of the church and society. Divorce rate is on the increase and many innocent have fallen victims. This is because many homes started on faulty foundations. Jesus Christ is the foundation of the Church, just as marriage is the foundation of the home. The Bible is the foundation for spiritual growth, while the constitution remains the foundation of the government. The Psalmist says  "if the foundation is destroyed, what can the righteous do?" (Ps 11:3).  The family that is founded on Christ, it's foundation can never collapse. To achieve this, let the husband to be and the wife to be, start their home with fasting and prayers, and keep on building their home of family on the altar of prayer. The family that prays together stays together! So they say, and that is the absolute

Fasting and Prayers Before Marriage

Image
Marriage as an institution has divine approval. The family, which is the basic unit of the society, is equally in God's scheme of things, especially with His decision to create mankind - male and female. The coming together of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden as husband and wife was not accidental. They were specifically instructed to be fruitful and multiply, till the earth, subdue the earth and have dominion. Before these instructions can be obeyed by 'man', marriage must have taken place. LIKELY FASTING AND PRAYERS FOCUS BEFORE MARRIAGE: 1. Divine Leading (Romans 8:14; Pro. 18:22) You have a right to claim guidance, because He has promised to guide you. You have a right to claim that He will lead you. But just to pick out someone and say, "I'm going to believe God and she's/he's going to be my wife or husband", is unscriptural; neither is it the right way of exercising faith. You can seek wise counsel from someone you respect spiritually,

How do I know my Partner?

Image
1. Seeking God's face: " Ask, and it shall be given unto you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receeiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened." Matt 7:7-8. How do I seek?  You need to get busy in the house of God, be in love and fellowship. Read 👉🏾 Psalms 37:4, John 9:9. Set a model and unbiased standard, have a specific desire but avoid being exclusive, let God have His way. Prov 19:21 . Attend Christian fellowship meetings and retreat programmes.  2. Look, Wait, Listening   Look : Look in the right places, set your eyes right!  Wait : Do not jump into conclusion like Samuel did; instead, go back to your closet to pray specific prayers (pray and fast) do not just rush into decision.  Listening : How to receive God's choice. Modes of hearing from God can be explored. Allow God to speak to you.  Inner voice or still small voice  Audible voice 1Sam 3.
